Marble Porcelain Living Room Floor in Summit

This Summit living room received a full floor tile installation using large-format white Carrara marble-look porcelain tiles. The existing linoleum was removed to reveal a wood subfloor that had some flex, which we addressed with a layer of cement board before any tile was set. The tiles were back-buttered and set with a large-format medium-bed mortar to achieve full coverage behind each slab and prevent hollow spots. The layout was centered on the room's main entry point so the veining pattern reads continuously from the doorway. Grout lines were kept to 1/8 inch to maintain the seamless marble appearance typical of Summit homes that have been updated in recent years.
