Full-Coverage Marble Walk-In Shower in Justice
This walk-in shower in a Justice home used large-format gray and white marble-look porcelain on all three walls, the floor, and the built-in bench. Full-coverage marble applications like this require particular attention to the continuity of the veining across panels. We dry-laid the tiles before installation to find the arrangement that made the veining pattern flow most naturally from wall to wall. The bench was built with a concrete backer before the tile was applied, and the bench top received a slight pitch toward the shower floor to prevent water from pooling. The linear drain at the back wall meant the floor tile was set with a four-directional slope to the drain channel rather than a single-point drain slope, which requires more careful mortar bed work to execute correctly.
