Beige Marble Porcelain Floor in Bedford Park

This large formal living room in Bedford Park received a high-gloss beige marble-look porcelain floor in 24x24 inch format. The space had an existing concrete slab, which was checked for levelness and moisture before any work began. A few high spots were ground down and low areas were filled with a self-leveling underlayment to achieve a flat working surface. The tiles were set with a medium-bed mortar using back-buttering technique to ensure full coverage behind each large-format piece. The layout was planned so the first tile centered under the crystal chandelier, with full tiles running to the fireplace wall and balanced cuts at the perimeter. The high-gloss surface required particular care during grouting to prevent grout haze from etching the polish.
