Bathroom Marble Tile Remodel in Bedford Park
A Bedford Park bathroom that had seen better days got a complete tile overhaul. The original dated tile with a decorative border came off to reveal adequate drywall in the dry zones and some water damage behind the old tub surround. The damaged drywall was cut out and replaced with cement board throughout the wet area before waterproofing. We used a liquid-applied membrane behind the tub surround, feathered up the walls to 6 inches above the tub rim. The new white marble-look porcelain went in as a full wall-to-wall installation, including a built-in niche above the toilet. The floor received matching marble-look rectangular tiles in an offset brick pattern, cut to fit around the pedestal base and toilet. Grout is a light gray unsanded product that ties the wall and floor together while keeping the look clean and updated.
